I’m Michael Petterson.
After an amazing career in the Electonics field, I found myself little burned out, and a failed marriage. I started a new life in Eastern Washington where 7 years later I married my best friend and travel buddy Lynn.
We find international travel addicting and watch for “good” deals all the time.
Oddly for me, my 1st International Travel experience was in the Late 80’s when my boss approached me and said he was uncomfortable working with this country, but would be willing to help me if I wanted to take it on… It was a technology transfer of 8 bit microprocessor technology to … The Chinese Government.
S000.. two years later with training from the US state department, lots of red tape (pun intended), I found myself on a flight to Bejing China via British Hong Kong (at the time).
Long story short… I found the people there just like us. They were all trying to make a living for their families and have fun in life. It left me with a odd feeling because I had been “trained” all my life see it another way.
That trip changed my career path forever. I later took a roll as Internation Operations Liaison Manager and worked with our Distribution center in Holland where I was humbled by the number of languages the folks spoke, and again found we are all the same.
Today, Lynn and I try to find interesting places to go and “try” to blend in. It’s an amazing world if you are open to learning!
